The update to the 3.0 makes the decision tougher. Now the 3.0 has closed a little on performance and open up a bigger gap on how far you can travel on a tank of fuel. Also, the revised 3.0 has second generation piezzo and slightly more kw/litre and Nm/litre than the 4.2tdi. Perhaps the 4.2 will get the same update soon?

The 2 piston calipers are from 2014 Audi A6 (C7) 3.0T. Rotors are 356MM EBC Dimpled and Slotted with Stoptech Ceramic pads. They were direct fit onto my 2010 S5 V8 but the wheels were a TIGHT Fit (Rotiform KPS 19x10) specifically near the cover plate mounting bolt.
