Garmin Fenix 5s battery drain. Hey there. Recently I used a garmin 5s, and bring it to an ultramarathon event. However just 9 hours and the battery died on me. On the first few hours, i noticed that i opened GPS+Glonass, hence i changed it immediately to normal GPS. however the drain is still bad and i changed it to ultratrac.
Use a Stock Watch Face. A lot of CIQ WF’s can quickly drain the battery due to the info on the front. Even the stock faces can increase battery drain quite a lot if you choose the wrong settings. I use the stock digital face with only hours, minutes, weekday and date. This gives me a power drain of approx. 0.15%/hour.
well, I'm used to pain with garmin quality, I had WHR problems etc. on my Fenix 5x Plus and I know that some things might not work as advertised, I'm already very tolerant as I generally like the Garmin Watches, but this is crazy for a 900 Euro device..I disabled now Wifi and the Altimeter calibration outside activities, those are the only settings that I think might drain the battery, and Yesterday I started my morning with 100% battery life, ran/hiked for 5 hours, and then normal everyday activity the remainder of the day. Battery was down to 21% when I went to bed. I hate to be a conspiracy theorist, but this issue starting in parallel with the release of the Fenix 7 has me scratching my head. A dedicated community for Garmin users to ask questions, provide answers, and share feedback. Battery drain 1%/hr in battery-saver-mode-consume-a-lot-of OHR sampling frequency increases in sports mode, and GPS can be a significant power drain. An hour of GPS per day will double battery usage, bringing life down to 1 week. Thanks for the great info and advices, I didn't know that.. I am on the 68% at the moment, almost 3 days usage.
